Only Barack Obama can threaten Republicans and keep a straight face while doing it. The problem is that he keeps his straight face because he is serious and just arrogant enough to mean what he says. Sometimes I think he even believes what he says even though he knows he’s lying. That’s precisely what he did at a fundraiser in Miami on Friday.
According to Keith Koffler at the Whitehouse Dossier Obama told a group of House Democrats that:
The only way we can continue to place pressure to get that bill done (the immigration bill) is by making sure that the other side — or at least that small faction on the other side — understands there’s a price to pay when you don’t act on the basis of the interests of the American people. And so that’s something that I hope we can still get done by the end of this year.
“So he’s pushing the line that in defying The Leader, it must be that Republicans are defying America itself,” Koffler said, calling it “typical Obama.”
Obama acts like the only reason conservatives exist is to defeat his agenda. He told the crowd in Miami on Friday:
Now, I wish that I could say that Washington always runs on the basis of common sense. But Washington is a political place. And what we’ve seen over the last several years is a constant ratcheting up of partisanship that prevents us from moving forward on things that I think most people would say aren’t Democrat or Republican ideas. They’re just good, common-sense, American ideas. Energy independence is one of them — making sure that we’re investing in the best schools, so that our children can compete in this new global economy; rebuilding our infrastructure, not just our energy infrastructure, but our ports and our roads and our bridges and our air traffic control systems, so that we stay on the cutting edge; making sure we’re investing in research and development. Those are all things that are critically important and should not be the subject of ideological debates.
It’s hard to believe that he actually said this with a straight face. Only a room full of Democrats would believe him. This morning I posted a photo on the Lady Patriots Facebook page that a reader sent to us. It was an assignment given to her second grade son a few days ago. It was a week-long assignment that he was told to read a minimum of 4 times, supposedly to increase fluency. The material he had to read said:
Long ago schools were only for boys. Most schools had just one room. Boys of all ages sat in the same room. The boys learned about reading. They learned about math. In history, they learned about kings and queens and wars. Paper cost a lot of money, so they wrote on little chalkboards called slates. The teacher was always a man. He could be very mean. He could whip the boys if they were bad. There was no place at school to cook lunch. The boys had to bring their lunches from home. There were no lunchboxes like we have. They used pails or baskets to carry their food. Most people did not go to school for very long. Only rich men went to college. We are lucky to have schools where everyone can learn.
Looking at this reading assignment given to an impressionable second grader shines a whole new light on Obama’s words:
They’re just good, common-sense, American ideas…making sure that we’re investing in the best schools, so that our children can compete in this new global economy… Those are all things that are critically important and should not be the subject of ideological debates.
We can easily see that education should be the subject of ideological debate when we look at the truth behind Common Core and the sexualization of our precious children. We should do whatever it takes to make sure they get a real education and not the dumbing down, morally bankrupt agenda from the left.
Obama continues berating Republicans:
Unfortunately, what we’ve seen is again and again those efforts blocked. And, in fact, sometimes what we’ve seen is Washington hurt our economy instead of helping, most recently with the shutdown and the threat that for the first time in over 200 years, America wouldn’t pay its debts.
So we have a whole drawer full of good ideas. And some of them I can do on my own, administratively. But, ultimately, I’ve got to have a Congress that is prepared to move forward, to work on those issues where we agree even as we understand there are some issues where we’re going to disagree…
While he was bemoaning the lack of support for the immigration bill he said:
And right now, it’s being held up. It’s being held up not because it’s not a good idea. The majority of the American people support it. It’s being held up because there’s a small faction in the other party that has decided we don’t want to do anything and our main goal is obstruction.
And, by the way, if the Republicans decided to pass it – and nobody would be happier than me – even though it would be to their political advantage to do it, because ultimately I’ve run my last election.
But, Koffler says Obama has one election left — the 2014 midterm and he is absolutely right. Obama will do anything to pack Congress with Democrats or RINOs to make sure that he finishes destroying this country in his last couple of years in office.
And along with the gray hair, what comes with being President is that you take the long view and you start thinking about 10 years from now or 20 years from now or 30 years from now.
And when I’m hopefully playing with some grandkids — but not too soon — because Malia and Sasha are only 15 and 12, I want to know that what I did made the world a better place for them. I want them to know that because of the decisions we made now, we’re more energy independent and that we’re improving our environment. I want them to know that not just they and their friends got a great education, but children all across America got a great education. I want them to know that the same liberty and freedom that they enjoy here is enjoyed in other parts of the world, including Cuba.
Doesn’t that give you a warm fuzzy feeling? I mean he’s moving heaven and earth to make things so terrific for America. In fact, like he says, his concern is global. He wants them to know that the same liberty and freedom that they enjoy here is enjoyed in other parts of the world, including Cuba. Well what better way for that to happen than to bring America down to Cuba’s level and that of the other Communist nations? It sounds sensible to me. Yep, those rascally Republicans should be ashamed of themselves for living and existing to Oppose Obama’s agenda.
